Diagnostic Tinnitus Assessment and Treatment

– The initial tinnitus assessment is two hours.  During that appointment, the Audiologist will provide and evaluate the patient’s detailed case history and standardized tinnitus questionnaires. A diagnostic hearing assessment including otoacoustic emissions will be administered in order to evaluate the health of your auditory system. Psychoacoustic measure of tinnitus will be administered and is important to obtain as it provides an important baseline for subsequent tinnitus management therapies which are often customized for each patient.

– After the initial assessment as been performed, the audiologist will review in detail the test results. the audiologist will provide in depth tinnitus counselling and education and tinnitus management recommendations will be made.  Just like everyone’s tinnitus is unique, the tinnitus management program will be tailored to each specific need.
